🌧️
The monsoon is coming. And if your home isn't ready, you're going to spend the next three months dealing with leaks, damp walls, and flooded balconies instead of enjoying the rain.
Here's the complete pre-monsoon checklist our professionals recommend:
Roof & ceiling
- Inspect the roof for cracks, loose tiles, or damaged waterproofing
- Check ceiling corners for water stains — they indicate existing leaks
- Seal any gaps around AC units or exhaust fans on the roof
Drainage & plumbing
- Clear all roof drains and gutters of leaves and debris
- Check that balcony drains are flowing freely
- Inspect external pipes for cracks or loose joints
- Test all internal drains for slow drainage
Walls & waterproofing
- Look for hairline cracks in external walls and seal them
- Apply waterproofing paint to external walls if it's been more than 3 years
- Check window frames and door frames for gaps
Electrical
- Ensure all outdoor sockets have weatherproof covers
- Check that the main switchboard is not in a damp area
- Test all MCBs and RCCBs
Booking a pre-monsoon home inspection through Working Class covers all of the above. Our professionals will identify issues before they become expensive problems.
